Introducing a 3D-printed button cover that helps to childproof your washing machine or dryer. Many front-loading machines come with “child locks” or “control locks,” but these often fail to disable the power or start/pause buttons. Curious toddlers, with their love for button-pushing, can easily disrupt your laundry cycle by pausing or stopping it—an annoyance I encountered firsthand. After designing this straightforward fix for my own home, I’m now sharing it with others who face the same challenge.

You’ll receive a set of TWO button covers, complete with pre-cut double-sided tape for easy attachment to your washing machine or dryer.

This cover is cleverly designed to deter small children from pressing buttons, while still allowing adults to access them with ease. Featuring a simple, no-moving-parts structure, it’s compatible with most washing machine and dryer models. I’ve personally tested it on various units in a local department store to confirm its versatility (see the pictures for proof).

Crafted from PLA plastic via 3D printing, each set includes 2 covers and the necessary double-sided tape for installation. If your machine’s power and start/pause buttons are positioned close together, a single cover might suffice per appliance. However, for models with buttons spaced farther apart (like certain LG designs), you may need an additional set to fully childproof both your washer and dryer.
