I created this site as a place to share my 3D printing projects, showcase what I’m selling on Etsy, and explain how these products solve real problems. My hope is that others who face similar challenges can find helpful solutions in the things I make.
Since I don’t want to keep all these useful products to myself, I realized that many people with their own 3D printers might benefit from these models too. There’s no point in selling a physical product to someone who can just print it at home.
That’s why I’ve uploaded some of my designs to MakerWorld under the name NeuronSapling65.
About the Licenses
MakerWorld lets creators set licenses on their models.
Most of mine are set to non-commercial use, you can print them for yourself, but NOT sell them.
Click here to view and pay for a commercial license on Patreon.
What If You Want to Sell My Models?
As it turns out, some people do want to sell my models and were reaching out to ask about getting a commercial license.
Rather than block all commercial use, I decided to offer a Patreon membership at an affordable price. Often, selling just one or two items can cover the monthly cost.
Members get the right to sell physical prints of my models from NeuronSapling65, ApexLayers, or any name I publish under (listed in the license agreement on Patreon). If you cancel the membership, you’ll need to stop selling – simple as that. You can always sign up again later if you want to resume.
I’m also adding exclusive models to Patreon that you won’t find on MakerWorld.
The Biggest Reason
Beyond licensing, there’s another reason I started this:
I’m honestly tired of seeing nothing but articulating dragons and other novelty prints at every 3D printing event and fair.
Sure, they sell well.
But I believe the 3D printing community would earn more respect if more creators offered useful, functional items… things that solve real problems.
By all means, keep selling your dragons and toys, they attract people to your booth. But once they’re there, why not give them something practical to buy, too?

For example:
- My Syringe Medicine Tracker is a game-changer for new parents, It’s eye-catching and it sells.
- My Stealth Key Electrical Box draws attention when mounted and generates strong interest, online and offline.
- Even something as simple as a Rag Dispenser solves a common problem. And solving problems = people buying.
Toys are a want. Functional prints are a need.
Let the dragons draw the crowd, but let the useful stuff open wallets.
